Atkinson (1957) This theory posits that task difficulty greatly influences motivation. When a task is perceived as too easy, individuals lack enthusiasm. Conversely, if a task appears impossible, individuals tend to avoid it. However, motivation is activated when a task falls within an individual's capabilities and provides an optimal level of challenge.
