Cooperatives

Work is also organized in cooperatives, whether business cooperatives or self-employed worker cooperatives. These entities operate based on sharing capital, risks, and profits. However, more importantly, they share many societal values and ambitions.

Contrary to Kolkhozes or Kibbutzes, these cooperatives have successfully integrated the principles of the market economy without fully accepting its mandates. This emerging form of work is gaining momentum in urban and rural areas. It fosters the creation of local economies, often characterized by greater solidarity, and has the potential to contribute to the development of a circular economy.
